Terms of Service
Effective date: April 2026
1. Introduction
Soehert is an online learning platform. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Soehert as a creator, learner, or visitor. By creating an account or using any part of the platform, you agree to be bound by these terms in full.
2. Who We Are
Soehert is an independent platform built to help knowledge creators package and share their existing YouTube content in a more structured learning format. We are not affiliated with YouTube, Google, Udemy, or any third-party platform whose content may appear on our service.
3. Content Responsibility
When you import a YouTube playlist or video into Soehert, you are making a binding declaration that you have the legal right to use that content for educational purposes on this platform.
You must only import content that meets at least one of the following conditions: you are the original creator and owner of the YouTube channel, you have received explicit written permission from the content owner, or the content is licensed under a Creative Commons or equivalent license that permits educational reuse.
Soehert does not verify content ownership at the time of import. This verification is entirely your responsibility. Soehert operates within YouTube's Terms of Service by using YouTube's official embed API, which permits third-party embedding of public videos. However, this technical permission does not absolve you of your own copyright obligations toward the original creators.
If you are found to have imported content without the right to do so, Soehert reserves the right to remove the course immediately and suspend your account without notice.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Soehert to import, publish, or distribute content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of any third party, contains misleading, harmful, or fraudulent educational material, promotes violence, discrimination, or illegal activity, or is intended to deceive students about the nature or quality of the course.
You also agree not to attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or exploit Soehert's platform, infrastructure, or AI features for purposes outside of normal educational use.
5. Student Enrollment and Learning
Students who enroll in courses on Soehert do so voluntarily. Soehert does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or quality of any course content, as all content originates from third-party YouTube sources. Students are encouraged to verify the credibility of course creators before enrolling.
Completion certificates issued by Soehert reflect course completion on our platform only. They are not accredited qualifications and should not be represented as such.
6. AI-Generated Content
Soehert uses artificial intelligence to generate lesson summaries, quizzes, and tutor responses based on YouTube video transcripts. This content is generated automatically and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. It is provided as a supplementary learning aid only and should not be relied upon as a definitive source of information.
Soehert is not responsible for the accuracy of AI-generated content and makes no warranties regarding its completeness or fitness for any particular purpose.
7. Platform Availability
Soehert is provided on an as-is, as-available basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the platform. Because course content is hosted on YouTube, any changes YouTube makes to a video — including deletion, privacy changes, or regional restrictions — may affect the availability of lessons on Soehert. We are not responsible for content becoming unavailable due to actions taken by YouTube or the original video creator.
8. Intellectual Property
Soehert's platform, design, code, and branding are the intellectual property of Soehert. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the platform without explicit written permission.
Course structures, chapter markers, notes, and AI-generated content created through Soehert remain associated with the creator's account. Soehert does not claim ownership over your course structure or the underlying YouTube content.
9. Termination
Soehert reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms, at our sole discretion and without prior notice. Upon termination, your courses and associated data may be permanently deleted.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
Soehert is provided without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the platform will be error-free, secure, or continuously available. Your use of Soehert is entirely at your own risk.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Soehert shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or disputes arising from content ownership.
12. Changes to These Terms
Soehert reserves the right to update these terms at any time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
